The Monkey

One of my friends from Columbus gave Charlie a monkey blanket as a baby present. I handed it to him a couple weeks ago to see if he would pull that instead of scratching his face and he is hooked. He sleeps with it and plays with it all day. It is really cute to watch him cuddle with it and use it to rub his eyes when he's tired. Thanks Heather! It's a hit!

Charlie's 1st time at the pool

We decided to take Charlie to the pool one evening about 3 weeks ago for his first swim, thinking it would be good since the sun was low. However, the pool water had not really gotten warm yet and Charlie didn't think it was such a great idea. He never cried, but had this panicked look whenever he touched the water and started gasping. Needless to say, it was a very short swim. We'll try again once the water is warm.

1st day sitting upright in the bouncer

I finally turned the bouncer from the supine to sitting position a couple weeks ago and Charlie seemed to love it. He was so happy I went to grab a quick shower. When I came back, he was folded in half, sound asleep. I felt so bad. He looked really uncomfortable but it didn't seem to phase him.

Saying Goodbye to the Howards

We had a going away party a couple weeks ago for our good friends Sam and Gayle, who have lived down the street for the past 3 years. We are so sad to see them go. Especially with baby "Will" on the way this Fall. He and Charlie would have been joined at the hip! We love you guys and will miss you.

Camo

Bobby wanted to take Charlie with him to run errands on Memorial Day. So I dressed him in his assorted camo duds that people have given him. Bobby was really excited that he didn't have to take him out in a daygown or bubble. :) Apparently they had a great time. Bobby's mom took these pictures when they stopped by her house to show off the outfit.

Here are a bunch of pictures from this past Sunday. We laughed so hard at him in that funny little bonnet that came with his outfit. Trust me, he did not wear it to church.

He has found his fingers

The pacifier is out and the fingers are in! One or two fingers, or the entire fist, his hands are in his mouth all the time and he is drooling like a mad man. He has decided that the index and middle fingers on his right hand are his favorite and finds them routinely throughout the day.

Tummy Time - May 2008

I thought this was such a funny picture. It looks like Charlie is talking to his animals and telling them something important. He is really doing well pushing up at this point. He rolled over for the first time on May 11th and has done it several times since. The picture of him in his swing was taken when my friend Poppy and her girls came over. Audrey, the 3 year old, wanted Charlie to have toys to play with. When we walked in, you couldn't see Charlie at all, he was completely covered in toys. The picture was taken after removing a stuffed animal from his face. He thought it was pretty entertaining.

Good Morning!

I woke up one morning last week and went in to get Charlie up to feed him and this is what I found. He was sound asleep. He had been sleeping through the night since 9 or 10 weeks. Then I got mastitis a couple weeks ago and had to wake him up at night to nurse and since then he has decided that feeding at night is a great idea. Bummer!

On Our Own

Bobby got to go to Destin with his company for a long weekend of golfing, swimming, and eating great seafood the weekend of May 15-18. So, Charlie and I got to spend some quality time together at home. He has recently started grabbing toys and shaking them, chewing on them, and playing with them. It is so cute! He gets so excited about it. He is doing new things every day. Sunday morning he fell asleep in his Boppy seat while I was in the shower. I love how he has his little hands folded... It looks like he is praying.

Anna Lauren's Graduation

My brother's wife, Anna Lauren, graduated from her Masters in Counseling program on May 10th and we were able to drive to Chattanooga to spend the day with them. We had a great time catching up with family and friends. We are so proud of all her hard work!

Plaid Pants

Sarah and Adelaide come to visit - April 10-13

My cousin Sarah and her daughter Adelaide came to stay with us while Bobby went on a backpacking trip, and Charlie and Addie loved each other. Addie would pile toys up on Charlie trying to share and he would just smile and coo back at her. On Sunday we walked in the den and Addie had been trying to hand him Cheerios, and of course he was not taking them from her, so she had just be setting them them in his lap and he was covered with Cheerios. It was pretty hilarious!

Changing Table

So, for whatever reason Charlie seems to usually be cheerful when he is on his changing table. He smiles and and coos, and today he stayed up there for 30 mins while I acted rediculous and entertained him. I am posting a clip of him since my parents have apparently worn out the last video I posted. He is 11 lbs now and so much fun!

The Flashing Star

Charlie's current favorite passtime is watching the light flash on the star above his Baby Einstein activity mat. He smiles and coos at it constantly and kicks his legs. It's really a great workout!

Cowboy Charlie

Charlie spends Monday's with Bobby's mom while I am at work. Apparently this is what they do for fun! He makes a pretty cute cowboy.

Snow!

It started snowing on Friday night, March7th, and we woke up to 4 inches on Saturday morning. Bobby, Patrick, and Richard stayed out half the night making "snow art" in people yards. Charlie didn't seem quite as excited about it as we were. I'm pretty sure he just thought it was cold!

Charlie - Weeks 5-9

Charlie is 9 weeks old and weighs over 10 lbs. He is growing so quickly! He loves to play on his baby einstein mat and watch the star light up and flash different colors. He also loves his swing and boppy seat. He spends lots of time smiling, cooing, and making funny faces. We spend lots of time watching him smile, coo, and make funny faces. He is such a joy!

Easter Weekend with Eric and Anna Lauren

My brother Eric, and his wife Anna Lauren, came up for Easter weekend to meet Charlie for the first time. We had a fun filled weekend with an Easter egg hunt, beautiful weather, great food, and a wonderful time celebrating the resurection. Charlie would not cooperate for a picture in his Easter outfit... Bobby says its because he is wearing a "dress". But, it is really because he wet all over himself right before I got ready to take pictures and was soaked. Poor guy.

Auntie Melissa

My cousin Melissa flew in for a long weekend in mid March to meet Charlie. We had a great time just hanging out with him and visiting. Charlie loved being held and talked to. He seemed to think whatever she was telling him in this picture was pretty interesting.
