Changing Table

So, for whatever reason Charlie seems to usually be cheerful when he is on his changing table. He smiles and and coos, and today he stayed up there for 30 mins while I acted rediculous and entertained him. I am posting a clip of him since my parents have apparently worn out the last video I posted. He is 11 lbs now and so much fun!

The Flashing Star

Charlie's current favorite passtime is watching the light flash on the star above his Baby Einstein activity mat. He smiles and coos at it constantly and kicks his legs. It's really a great workout!

Cowboy Charlie

Charlie spends Monday's with Bobby's mom while I am at work. Apparently this is what they do for fun! He makes a pretty cute cowboy.

Snow!

It started snowing on Friday night, March7th, and we woke up to 4 inches on Saturday morning. Bobby, Patrick, and Richard stayed out half the night making "snow art" in people yards. Charlie didn't seem quite as excited about it as we were. I'm pretty sure he just thought it was cold!

Charlie - Weeks 5-9

Charlie is 9 weeks old and weighs over 10 lbs. He is growing so quickly! He loves to play on his baby einstein mat and watch the star light up and flash different colors. He also loves his swing and boppy seat. He spends lots of time smiling, cooing, and making funny faces. We spend lots of time watching him smile, coo, and make funny faces. He is such a joy!

Easter Weekend with Eric and Anna Lauren

My brother Eric, and his wife Anna Lauren, came up for Easter weekend to meet Charlie for the first time. We had a fun filled weekend with an Easter egg hunt, beautiful weather, great food, and a wonderful time celebrating the resurection. Charlie would not cooperate for a picture in his Easter outfit... Bobby says its because he is wearing a "dress". But, it is really because he wet all over himself right before I got ready to take pictures and was soaked. Poor guy.

Auntie Melissa

My cousin Melissa flew in for a long weekend in mid March to meet Charlie. We had a great time just hanging out with him and visiting. Charlie loved being held and talked to. He seemed to think whatever she was telling him in this picture was pretty interesting.

Meeting Aunt Kelly, Uncle Scott, and Cousin Haley

Bobby's sister and her family flew in for the weekend on March 6th. We had a great time celebrating Haley's 1st birthday and just spending time with family. Patrick and Emily and Conor and Sellers were able to join us for Haley's birthday party. She had a blast digging onto the life sice bunny cake Dinah made her and was covered in icing by the time she was done.

Charlie's First Road Trip

On February 27th my mom, Charlie, and I left Nashville for Columbus in the middle of this years only "snow storm". At times you could not see a city block because the snow was coming down so hard. Unfortunately the ground was warm and the snow didn't stick. In Columbus we were able to see lots of friends. On Thursday we enjoyed seeing Heather and her new son Wylie as well as Johnna and her son Davis. That night my cousin Sarah and her daughter Adelaide came in from Montgomery and joined us at Mary Kathryn's soccer game. Friday we had a long visit with Mallory and Margaret. And, Saturday we drove down to Albany to visit Bobby's grandparents and let them meet Charlie for the first time. Charlie is named after Bobby's mom's dad and my mom's dad, both named Charles. So, it was fun for both Charlie's to meet for the first time. Sunday we were able to stop in Birmingham and visit with Nicole, Derrick, and Ella. Ella was so interested in Charlie and was really excited to hold him. Charlie did well in the car and slept almost the entire trip both ways. We had a great time and loved seeing so many friends and family. Thanks to all of you for making time for us, we love you all!

Charlie is 4 weeks old!

Charlie is 4 weeks old today... here are some random pictures from the past 4 weeks. He is growing like a weed! He weighed 5lbs 11 oz when we left the hospital and when we weighed him on Saturday he was 7lbs 11oz. I can't believe he has gained 2 pounds in the last 3 weeks! He is definitely filling out and changing so quickly. Time seems to fly... we are trying to enjoy every second.

Sunday

Charlie made his debut at church this morning. He slept quietly through the entire service. We're going to have to talk to the pastor about making the sermons a little more kid friendly since it didn't seem to keep his attention very well. :) He actually fit into something other than a onsie or sack today, which was very exciting.

It may be a while before he can fill dad's shoes, but he looks really cute trying!Posted by Picasa

Weeks 2-3

We have had an eventful couple of weeks. Charlie is starting to sleep better at night but has had a hard time because of reflux and an allergy to cow's milk. I just started a dairy free diet this weekend and hopefully that will help him feel better quickly. He is such a cute baby... we love every minute with him. He still sleeps a lot, but also has very allert periods when he loves to be talked to, look at his animals, listen to music, or hang out and look around. He also loves his bouncy seat and listening to the mobile in his crib. PS - If you want to see these pictures in a larger format just click on the image and it will open in a bigger screen.

First Week Home

Charlie and dad hang out.
It looks like he is telling Mimi a shocking story. My mom came up to help out for 2 weeks... I can't tell you how helpful an extra set of hands is. Thanks mom!
Charlie loves to lay in his crib and stare at his stuffed animals.
Charlie enjoyed his first Super Bowl at 6 days old, with his parents and the Holcomb's, at his grandparents house.

Coming Home!

Charlie sleeps best on his dad's chest. Napping just before we left the hospital.
His car seat looks huge with him in it!
Just home from the hospital

Welcoming Charles Harrison Freeman "Charlie" - January 28, 2008

Just minutes old... Proud dad gets to hold Charlie while mom is still in surgery. Charlie weighed 6 lbs 7 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.
Worn out after delivery!
My dad was thrilled to see that Charlie looks a lot like our side of the family. He definitely looks a lot like my baby pictures.
